Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by the Ask Tavo team and describes current practices for the Ask Tavo service. It is not legal advice and is not an independent certification or audit. Questions: privacy@asktavo.com.

Information collected

• Account information you provide: name, email address, and sign-in credentials.
• Search details you enter: vehicle preferences, budget, location, timeline, trade-in information, financing goals, must-have features, and deal breakers.
• Deal information you enter: vehicle year, make, model, trim, VIN, mileage, selling price, discounts, rebates, dealer fees, add-ons, taxes, registration, trade allowance, trade payoff, cash down, APR, loan term, monthly payment, and total amount financed.
• Messages exchanged with dealerships through Tavo, including dealer replies.
• Technical data needed to operate the service, such as log and error information.

Uploaded documents

• You may upload a quote, worksheet, or buyer's order for a Deal Check. Uploaded files are stored in private storage and are accessible only to systems and personnel operating the review.
• Uploaded documents may contain personal information. Please remove Social Security numbers, full account numbers, and other sensitive identifiers before uploading if they are not needed for the review.
• Uploaded documents are used to perform your Deal Check and are not sold, published, or provided to a dealership without your authorization.
• You may request deletion of an uploaded document at any time using the contact details below.

Use of AI services

• Tavo uses artificial intelligence services to read submitted deal information, summarize documents, draft messages, and produce estimates and recommendations.
• AI processing may take place on third-party infrastructure acting as our service provider under contract.
• AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. Tavo provides informational guidance and estimates, not legal, tax, or financial advice, and figures must be confirmed with the dealership and lender.

Communications with dealers

• When you authorize outreach, Tavo sends messages to dealerships on your behalf and receives their replies.
• Dealerships receive the information needed to quote a vehicle, such as the vehicle of interest and a contact channel managed by Tavo.
• Dealer communications are retained in your account so you can review the full history of an exchange.

Consent and authorization

• No dealer communication or negotiation is sent without the buyer's authorization.
• By submitting a search or Deal Check you authorize Tavo to process the information you provide in order to deliver the service.
• You may withdraw authorization for further outreach at any time; withdrawal does not affect messages already sent.

Data sharing

• We share information with service providers that operate the product: hosting, database, authentication, email and messaging delivery, storage, analytics, payment processing, and AI processing.
• We share information with dealerships only to the extent needed to carry out outreach you have authorized.
• We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the service and its users, or in connection with a business transfer.
• Recommendations are based on buyer value, not dealer compensation. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

• Account, mission, deal, document, and message records are retained while your account is active so you can revisit past searches and reviews.
• Some records may be retained after account closure where required for legal, tax, accounting, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Deletion requests

• You may request access to, a copy of, or deletion of your information by emailing privacy@asktavo.com.
• We verify requests before acting on them and aim to respond within 30 days.
• Deleting information may end an in-progress search or Deal Check.

Security limitations

• We restrict access to buyer data to the systems and accounts needed to operate the service and transmit data over encrypted connections.
• No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
• Report a suspected vulnerability or account issue to privacy@asktavo.com.

Estimates and third-party information

• Listings, pricing, incentives, market comparisons, and trade values may come from dealerships and third-party data sources.
• That information can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and Deal Check results are estimates based on the information available.
• Vehicle availability, pricing, financing, taxes, fees, incentives, and trade values must be confirmed with the dealership and lender.

No guarantee of vehicle availability or savings

• Tavo is not a dealership or lender and does not guarantee that a vehicle will be available, that a dealership will respond or honor a quote, that financing will be approved, or that any amount will be saved.

Limitation of liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ask Tavo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service or reliance on estimates or recommendations.
• Additional limitations are set out in the Terms of Service.

Prohibited use

• Do not upload documents or information you are not permitted to share, or submit another person's deal without their permission.
• Do not use Tavo to send unlawful, harassing, deceptive, or bulk automated communications, to scrape the service, or to resell access without written permission.
